There are over 28 miles of walking trails on Block Island open to the public free of charge, providing everyone the opportunity to enjoy the island’s natural beauty, heritage, and wildlife.

The Nature Conservancy has been working on Block Island since 1972, and officially launched the Block Island Program in 1991 when Block Island was names as one of 12 “Last Great Places” in the western hemisphere.
