Osprey Update: June 30

These 2 nestlings are growing at an almost unbelievable rate. The first photo in this post was taken on June 23 when they were 1 day short of 4 weeks old. The second photo was taken on June 24 at 4 weeks old. At this stage the nestlings were mostly "standing" on their tarsus (lower leg) not their feet. And they are still being fed by the female, who picks a piece of fish and feeds it to them. Soon they should start picking and ripping off their own morsels of fish brought to

the nest by the male.
